Downspouts
A downspout exists to collect excess rainwater, carry it from the eavestrough, and direct it away from the foundation. This piece prevents disastrous basement flooding and consequently, damage. On average, one downspout can drain up to 800 sq feet of roof space collected by the gutter.
Gutter Dunn Supplies and installs downspouts from Royal, Waynes, Gentek, Kaycan, and Lindab.
Downspouts come in various sizes.
The standard residential size is 2 5/8” x 2 5/8” square downpipe. This standard downspout will drain 800 square feet of roof in the heaviest of rainfalls.
3”x3” downspouts can drain up to 1200 sq feet of roof per downspout.
3”x4” downspouts can drain up to 1500 sq feet of roof per downspout.
4”x5” downspouts can drain up to 2100 sq feet of roof per downspout. (commercial building use only)
